There's a local guy that does reproduction versions and newer designs that he improves by using the 511 horn with a lower crossover and raising the horn. Drivers are not that expensive and anyone with wood working skills could build the bass cabinet. Add the Great Plains crossover. I wonder what that would cost?
I paid more than I would have wanted and just missed a pair that needed some work and a woofer repair for $1,400. But, mine came with 3" skirts, grill covers, reconed woofers and are as nice looking as you can find. The local guy is getting more these days, supply and demand. He probably got the pair I missed.
Ah, but you can still find some bargains if you're willing to do some work or build your own.
