With the latest waveguide (the thing that used to be called a horn?) and changes to the crossover, including using a Duelund damping resistor, the 4 Pis made me focus like never before on the source.

Like the OP, my room is small, 12'x15', and the imaging is NOT "holographic" but they do convey the timbre and texture of music like nothing else I've heard.
