I'd make each cabinet a half of a 9844, a monitor that Altec made using twin 414s. Just use half the volume and venting.
I'd cross at 800-1200 hz to an Altec or GPA 902 on one of several good horns---Altec 811, Emilar bowtie or one Bruce Edgar's saladbowls. The crossover should provide compensating EQ to extend the top end of the 902 as was done with the Altec 14 and 19.
The 414 is a great driver, first rate upper bass and midrange and great vocal reproduction.
