Adrian, I am a big Altec fan myself but have always heard that the TAD is the better performing driver. Actually much better. Anyway, according to a good friend who's ears I trust, he would rate the woofers like so: TAD, JBL (e.g. LE15B), then Altec (416-8B). I like the midrange coming from the Altecs so I have never bothered to try something else. Could you give some details on why you like the Altec better? Thanks.
