The new Altec is not the old Altec. The new company shares nobody from the one that went bankrupt in the 90's, they bought the trademarks and then began manufacturing replicas in China. Offerings from Great Plains Audio and Iconic are much closer to original Altec (ie. they share parts, personnel and expertise with the original) than the new Altec. No relation to the above but I believe in what they are doing. So think $6k/side for Chinese manufacturing...Dave
