Dayton (gasp) drivers in Altec cabinet

I was just comparing T/S parameters of various 15" drivers to those of actual Altec 416-8A/B/C 's and I realized that the Dayton 15 from their professional series comes the closest of many to the actual Altec specs. I was looking at the option of using cheaper drivers until I can afford a herd of real Altec 416s. The Fs of the Dayton as well as many other parameters comes closer than Eminence and others to actual Altec figures. Not quite as efficient (95dB) or broad a frequency response though (listed to only 800cps). I have regarded Dayton as an el-cheepo brand of driver before, but it appears as though their cast frame 15" may be a viable, economical alternative to real Altec for the time being. Any thoughts?
