Fostex are reported to have long long break in times. I remember Terry Cain telling me the Abbys needed a year to break in. Most people feel that the Fostex FE206E needs a minimum of 4 to 500 hours. I am not close to those kind of numbers.
There are other steps that need to be completed. I now have the Cardas SE 15 on hand, and can make a comparison with the Ohno Continuous Cast Copper wire that is currently in place.
I also need to find an appropriate set of spikes. I ordered a set, but am not confident in the build quality. I chose not to install them, and am looking for alternatives. So I currently am using a smaller cone that is only temporarily mounted to the cabinet.
At this point the speaker does not have the sheer force and impact of the larger AN driver. However, the bass quality is more refined and detailed. I beleive the design is only flat down to 50 hertz. I suspect a subwoofer is going to become part of the system at a later date.
