Jean-MichelI had to laugh concerning your reference to Linkwitz-Riley crossovers, and their said short-comings. The last time this came up on this forum, it was said that if you were to mention that you listened to horn loudspeakers to Sigfried Linkwitz, that he would just laugh. I'm very interested in the history of single ended triode amplifiers and horn loudspekers, which seemed to run somewhat parallel between France and Japan in the 70's and 80's, with Jean Hiraga being the connection. America was at least ten years behind this trend. I recently purchased Jean Hiraga's "Les Haut Parleaurs" after reading several amazing reprints of some of his articles from Revue de Son from the late 80's in Audio Xpress. I can currently make out about 25% of the text of Haut Parleurs, and I realize that I must improve my French beyond "Je voudrais un vin Blanc".
Lafayette, we are here again, and we want that Western Electric stuff back! ; )
