Definitly the amp, have tried other amps that were far quieter. I have asked around, and the Exposure just seem to be a rather noisy amp. I guess its fine when they are used with the typical British speakers they are designed to be used with, they are usually never above about 89db/watt. I tried a pair of speakers my brother has which are about 86db/watt and the amp is quiet you can barely hear any hiss unless you turn the volume all the way up and put ur ear to the tweeter then u can hear a little noaise which is normal I would think. I think its just a case of a noisy amp and very sensitive speakers not working well together. Most amps are designed for speakers that are average sensitivity I guess, a majority of the people using Exposure amps are using british speakers like Spendor or Neat so i guess its not much of a problem. When I upgrade my speakers next Ill just have to get something less sensitive...lol Or ill just find a quiter amp, what ever comes first. I really wish the Exposure was quieter, ive really grown to love this liitle amp, its my favortite amp Ive owned and ive had about 5 integrateds over the last 10 years(Jolida, NAD, Rega, Arcam and Krell(yuck)). I always came back to the Exposure for some reason, its just very musical, I cant really put my finger on wehat I like about it so much. Just makes me want to listen more than any others so far.
Thanks for the advice
