so whats wrong with wharfedale?

i was at a friends this evening going through his audio junkpile and inside two large cabinets i find these 12 inch super 12 fs/al models fitted with aluminum voice coils.
at first i thought they were stevens with their big red alnico magnets. so he gives them to me but i need to get new surrounds for them. anyhowe why do they carry no resale value? the ones i have look every bit as well built as stevens ,jbl ,altec. well i`m going to fix them up and keep them for future projects but was wondering why the low re-sale on wharfedales. thanks
