paul,Thats why I really like this forum, GREAT advice from a place of experience. Those CLS's are power hungry and extreemely "phase'y". Buuuuuut there is midrange magic there when the stars align.
Yes, I have a pair of Antique Sound Labs Aq 1006/845 DT SET's. I am also new (one year) to the single ended amplifier world. If you look back at my list of currently owned speakers, prior to full rangers, then you will understand why I felt it correct to go with a 22 watt SET. Now that I have entered the world of very efficient speakers my SET priorities may change. Paul, please keep in mind that I really am quite inexperienced when it comes to various types of SETs.I do have several vintage PP 6BQ5 amplifiers and a pair of Leak TL-25 plus amps which are EL-34 output. The other ,6BQ5, amplifiers are, a Pilot SA-232 at 16 watts, and a really great sounding pair of Eico HF-86 stereo amplifiers that I bridge for a wopping 32 watts per side. These PP amps have yet to spend any time with the Fostex's or Lowther's.
The idea of a 2A3 set sounds very inticing but I'm afraid that I have emptied my audio equipment piggy bank with all the new drivers and a bunch of very expensive Baltic birch .Lance
