Hi FreddiI've never seen a copy of Wireless World on this side of the pond, and I never thought to look for it at the library. Remember Thomas Dolby's "Blinded by Science" record from the early 80's? There was a W.W. cover used as part of a collage of scientific stuff on the album jacket. At this point in time I guess I'm glad I did'nt read the original article in '74, as I may have lusted after tractrix bass horns. I still have not heard a Karlson, though they seem to have shown up driverless at the yearly Mamouth Record Mart here (now defunct unfortunately), though it may have been the same box coming back a couple of years in a row. Magnetar did'nt show up for the '03 M.A.F., so it seems it's just you two carying the Karlson banner here. It seems that the constricted slot in front of the driver in the rubber throat just adjusts for the different sensitivities of the bass and mid, but the trick of it all comes just after this and seems to have been serendititously discovered, although P.W.K. did seem to understand what was happening. Ah well, there certainly is a lot of good information available from Dr. Edgar, all of it backed up with measurements along with accounts of what did'nt work and why.
It's a great time to be experimenting with horns!
Paul
