The JBL acoustic lenses do not work as a low pass filter, but they reduce the peaks in the vocal and sibilance range. Also helps diffuse HF beaming. I pretty much used all the tweaks out there, and this works best for my ear.The acoustic lense is fastened on the front of the baffle with neo magnets, and barely touches the phase plug. The acoustic lense has some of the properties found in horns.
No high pass on the Lowthers, they are run full range. IMO, drivers that can be run FR sound better. This is why I like mechanical rather than electronic solutions when tweaking sound reproduction.
