I do want to hear the Imperials, mostly because who wouldn't (?!), but also because I have become skeptical about using 45s on high mass drivers or into passive crossovers, or even using 45s full range. And the 45 is actually my favorite amp by far - within its limits, which ultimately caused me to pass on 45s. I had VOTTs, and some friends who also owned them used 45s, winding up with various crossover schemes that just never worked for me. And those VOTTs finally wore me right down. I actually traded them for the original Advents. I would love to hear horns with great continuity and even micro/macro dynamics, but so far horns not worked for me due to the very restricted driver ranges and audible crossover points, colorations and resonances I am apparently sensitive to, and they have struck me as relentless. But hey, I am aware that things do change a little every so often. I would still LOVE to figure out how to get and use full-range from 45s.
And I would love to hear your set-up. I live in San Diego, CA, seem to be working lots more and traveling lots less.
Best regards,
Paul S
