Over time ...... the music either remains. Or the new pretender prevents it's enjoyment. Long term memory also comes into play, not just the recently displaced piece of equipment.My current speaks (Isophon P130/70 run full range on small open baffle, with a small paper cone helper tweet, single cap at 9k), continue to improve, impress, and amaze. My total cost .... somewhere around fifteen bucks. I've almost forgotten about giving some vintage alnico's a whirl :-)
The ultimate test? If I experience some remorse when powering down for the day/eve .....
