You people are pretty good reading to be sure. I haven't been to ALL the bars of course. But the finest system I've ever heard in a nice place was in Ft. Collins Colorado. "Washingtons". Better than "Gilley's" {which is Quite large actually} by miles.

They have a rack that is twenty feet wide at least and from the floor to the ceiling filled with a couple of DAT systems and Reel to Reels. Also, to power it all up of course they are using a number of Yamaha Amps that really never lite the beautiful responce lights ever. So the Cerwin Vegas with 15" woofers and horn tweets hanging from the ceiling are efficient enough I guess.

I was just a little miffed but I can take it well. Okay ? And like many of you I suspect, music through an old Victrola home multi-band isn't bad if thats all you've got ! Even in MONO. I had a number of "record players" and even have some 45's around. About 2,000+ record collection of rock and blues and a little country. Poco still makes my heart jump and jerk. Robert Plant can tax any system.

But I refuse to buy manufactured speakers anymore. I just felt that if I have to keep replacing factory drivers out, then its time to build my own instead. So I sold my old Cerwin vega HED10's and my old lux amp puked a preamp circuit, so I shoped around and bought so totally mismatched equipment and have a great sounding system now. With homebuilt monster speaks.

For the same money as my first system cost me brand new in the 70's. !!!
