...in the 60's when those 30" woofer Patricians came out. I've only recently heard anything that get in the ball park with them for deep bass authority. I think you exaggerate the size a bit, as they are about the size of a big refrigerator. As to your book cases, how many books do you need handy at one time? Each Patrician could support a book rack on top to satisfy an avid reader. As far as multiple speaker high power bar systems, you've got to be joking! There simply is no comparison between a pair of Patricians and the averge multi speaker stuff heard in bars, where you have just loud bland background music everywhere. Come to think of it, a pair of 6550 powered Patricians would make a great bar system!Coming soon: the Patrician Bar and Grill!
