Not even a single driver acts as a point source; There is parallax across the diaphragm and with the listener. This device has many drivers in different positions, all entering a common horn. The crossover region between each of them is wide, so 1/2 wavelength is a large set of values having a wide range. About this business of having the distance between drivers limited to less than a 1/4 wavelength - that's smaller than the diameter of each diaphragm. A 1/4 wavelength of 1Khz is only 3.38".

There was performance data on the Lambda site for months which showed tell-tale frequency anomalies from the Unity horn. It was the sort of spiked dip that is evidence of diffraction interference caused by a phase reversal. Tom and Mark have tried to distance themselves from this by all means possible because it clearly shows what I say to be true.
