Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

RE: 5 watts enough for 94 dB efficient speakers?

Hi Greg,

I use 95dB Dayton PS-220-8 with cones that have been treated. These are placed in Sachiko double-back-loaded horns and I use a 40W/ch, 845-based, integrated, SET amp! I often have the volume turned up to almost the 12 o'clock position. My room is 15' 7" x 12' 7" with a ceiling that slopes from 8' where the speakers are to 10' where I listen. Finally there's a small wall that sticks out about 5' and is about 4.5' tall that separates the kitchen from the audio room. The photo below this was taken from the kitchen:

I listen to mainly Smooth Jazz, Chamber Jazz, Jazzy New Age and the very occasional Prog-Rock. I couldn't imagine be restricted to just 5 watts. But perhaps that's just me...

I'm listening to:

Central Florida Audio Society -- SETriodes Group -- Space Coast Audio Society
Full-range/Wide-range Drivers --- Front & Back-Loaded Horns --- High Sensitivity Speakers
