One of the principal virtues of the D123 is usable response up to several kHz. The D123 is efficient but does not have the power handling of modern pro grade HE drivers. A 2-inch driver allows a lower crossover and more power handling. A low crossover is not required, nor is great power handling. A 1-inch driver will provide a good match with the D123 for power handling and crossover frequency. In addition to the excellent 1-inch drivers already suggested, consider the Altec 802 or 902. Of course they are a good match for use with the 511 and 811 horns. Both provide smooth, wide band response when properly damped and driven with a clean signal.Bob
