Dormant, I second the opinion of the Phillips SACD 1000. It is a very warm unit. My system is without tubes and it fits in well. I can see how a tube based system may get too much of a good thing. The Sony SACD players are probably a better match. I found that the player was much better with a silver/stranded interconnect IMS (Kimber KCAG). I have not tried solid silver yet, but that is next. Overall, this player is well suited for me, and is what I want to spend. Overall, I thought the Sony SCD1 was probably closer to neutral, but a little dry. The mods out there get the Sony "Wright". I do wish there was a dig out, but then I would have another box on the rack, something I have been trying to get away from. I will look foreward to your post with the player you choose. All ears, Jallen
