I found the most wonderful little hi-res digital player...

Three years ago I discovered DSD and I fell in love with its sound quality. I bought a TASCAM DA-3000 DSD recorder and began copying my favorite vinyl records to 5.6M DSD. I also accumulated about a thousand albums on 2.8M DSD, which gives me quite a library of hi-res music. In all this time I was unsuccessful in finding a reasonably priced digital player so I've been using my TASCAM DA-3000 as a player as well as a recorder. However, just last week I discovered a small portable digital player that can play just about any digital format available up to and including 5.6M DSD.

I just bought a hand-held portable Teac HA-P90SD digital player and I'm flabbergast by its awesome sound quality. This little thing is unbelievable. I connected it to my main system and it sounds every bit as good as my TASCAM DA-3000, which is one of the best sounding digital players I've ever heard. The Teac HA-P90SD might even sound a little better than the TASCAM and it cost only $300 brand new on Amazon.

Are any of you familiar with this little jewel? I wish I had discovered it sooner because according to the Teac webpage, it has been discontinued. Therefore, if you're interested in a small digital player that sounds as good as the large component size digital players, you might want to check this Teac out before it disappears.

About eight months ago I ordered a pair of Koss ESP/950 electrostatic headphones . Combined with the Teac HA-P90SD, I now have the perfect portable system.

Anyway, if you're looking for an inexpensive digital player that sounds spectacular and plays virtually any digital audio format from MP3 up to 5.6M DSD, check out the Teac HA-P90SD while it last.

Best regards,
John Elison
