I used to use a notebook computer streamer and I also couldn't hear the slightest difference between streaming under battery power or streaming with the charger connected. However, I bought an Oppo Blu-Ray Disc Player to replace my computer and I really enjoy the convenience of not needing a computer streamer any longer. The Oppo has a variety of streaming apps in addition to several USB ports for plugging in USB drives containing music files. It also plays CDs and SACDs as well as video discs. I really like it a lot better than using my notebook computer.
