As Sony and Philips own the SACD DSD format they can produce any SACD they wish if they are willing to pay the rediculous sums of money for the copyright to put music not contained in the SONY catalog on hi rez. Sales have never warranted an expansion of Sony's SACD catalog and it seems the format is slowly dying.
This is truly unfortunate as SACD comes frightenly close to well-produced 45 rpm. vinyl in many instances.
Perhaps if we had downloaded less from ITUNES and purchased more SACDs, the format would have flourished.
