Frequency response is just one of many components which affect and thus determine resolution.
As we humans can't even detect frequencies above 15 khz. I am surprised that you feel the difference in resolution between your loudspeakers and your phones is due to the fact that one
responds to higher frequencies than the other. In general specifications are meaningless words and numbers on a piece of paper. Anyone who believes otherwise and uses specs to determine what is good and what is better is deluding themselves.
Ultimately, the proof in the pudding is how musical the reproduced music sounds which governs your enjoyment level. We all would be much better audiophiles if we were blind.
