New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

RE: Yes I do, if one cannot "hear the difference" then the extra resolution is wasted on them.

...perhaps if your system was good enough the 'low resolution cd's' would sound much better to you.with '$30 cables' you're not going to hear much.i'll assure you that there are plenty of audiophiles who love the sound of the cd collection...some of them approaching the quality of many sacd's on good systems.your implication is that sacd is the only sound source one should listen to....that's ridiculous. 'i have learned to live with the fact that some people actually 'like' cd sound.'god...i hope we, who happen to love the sound of our cd's, haven't caused you any mental health problems.i could prescribe a good ssri that might be of some help.on a good system, the 'extra small intricate sonic details', the more realistic ambience' and the 'feeling of being in the presence of the musicians'is very easily audible on cd's,with a good system...one can have it both ways...great cd sound and great sacd sound...try listening to any of the 'reference recordings'...or most of the xrcd's ...these are cd's....and superb at that...sacd's, on your system, sound better then cd's because your system is not capable of extracting the nuances that ARE present on alot of wonderful cd's...i will assure you that alot of the cd's that i own would sound as good or better ...on my system..then some or most of the sacd's do on yours...
