..this won't entirely answer your question but i recently changed sacd players from a heavily vse / kern modded scd-1 to an emm cdsa-se and the difference is/was significant...to the point where a friend ..who heard mine ..who also had an scd-1..immediately bought a cdsa-se also...the difference can be significant...it all depends on what you want or are willing to settle for based on your budget.the difference in what you would hear between these 2 machines would be easily discernible.
