yes it is....i,unfortunately, have not had the oportunity to hear the meitner combo in either of its' forms but cannot imagine it sounding $6k-$8k better then this full mod does.with the transformer mod,transport mod,super clock 2,audio board vishay resistors,audio board black gates,audio board regulators,audio board op amps,power supply board black gates,power supply board regulators,buffer ic's it sounds spectacular.i believe...and richard can correct me if i am wrong...david robinson has his 777es that is modified in the same manner,for review,comparing it against the meitner and others that he has had the opportunity to hear.all i can say is that it is a totally different sounding player from the one i sent off...both the cd end and the sacd end.i still haven't come to a conclusion as to which i think benefitted more but sufice it to say that both have been transformed..no pun intended...into the best of each that i have heard.every aspect of the musical presentation was dramatically improved.i am a happy camper.
