The first prototype had only one circuit for both CD and SACD playback like most SACD players. The 306/200 Cary CDP blew it away on redbook CD performance when they were compared. They went back to the drawing board, and the new prototype with two dedicated circuits, one each for CD and SACD playback is satisfactory. Dennis said that the SACD performance of the first prototype was superior to the 306.
