After six months mine has just stopped reading SACDs. Still reads the CD layer of hybrids. Spoke to Jim in Tampa: he said it sounds like the laser, which is part of the transport assembly, meaning the latter would have to be replaced. He said he hasn't had any problems with the new transports. Don't know for how long though.
The unit recently came back from Dan Wright with his Signature Mod and sounds fantastic. I'm thinking I'll wait till it stops playing CDs to send it in. Maybe by then someone will have a definitive answer.
