gs, I had a similar problem and I sent the unit back to Phillips (In TN) as they are the only place to work on SACD players for Phillips. They simply replaced my unit. The service by Phillips was very good. The unit sounds great. They didn't say what the problem was, but the bottom line is that I have a new unit and the warranty on digital is a must. Jallen
