Yes I prefer leaner bass, bass must at all cost not affect the clarity of the midrange.
My speakers move lot's of air believe me. lean bass and moving plenty air can work together, they do in my system.
Still please waste 6 $ and get the John Adams violin concerto.
Most people I played this piece are shocked how powerful the climaxes are. They will make you jump out of your chair.
