most of my RBCD purchases are used and music not likely to be issued on SACD. buying SACD locally is silly, lots of travel and fingering through the same old titles. i have gone to the net now for sacd and the RARE new rbcd (bob dorough at the iridium ferinstance) that i might purchase.for christmas, i was given a circuit city gift cert and i could only find ONE rbcd worth buying (there are no longer sacds at cc) and that was medeski martin and wood's new one.
used vinyl is happily abundant here in LA and so is the reasonably priced used cd (amoeba, record surplus, rockaway, poobah, canterbury, etc).
restricting my purchases to sacd would be foolish, its the music i am after. sound quality is important but not so that it keeps me from the music i love and need.
