No, I didn't forget - I mentioned "effects." Electronically-created reverb is considered an "effect."There's nothing wrong with wanting the best sound possible - that's why I have the equipment I have. I have been a recording musician as well as a recording engineer, and I'll let you in on a little secret that seems to have passed you by. Here it is:
Vinyl does not always provide the best sound possible, even if the record is mint.
And here's another one:
There are lots of digital recordings that are sonically superior in every way to many analog recordings.
I'll leave you to your anti-digital crusade now :-)
