Teresa,I really enjoyed this double SACD ($16.99 at Best Buy). I felt that the different performances added to my understanding of the work and did not make me keep thinking of how the original sounded. I just got into it and let it take me along.
I did not find the sound to be below par, but I must admit that I don't use rock albums that much for sonic comparisons. I also have the "In the Flesh" double SACD and I like that one too. It was much more expensive though, so I do think this one is well priced.
It has been criticized my many Floyd fans, so if you have strong feelings about the whole affair (a lot of setbacks, artists didn't show, didn't get as much money as expected etc) I understand. But I'm a big Roger Waters fan and I'm not passing this one up.
Now, when is "Amused To Death" coming? That's the one I'm waiting for.
