The differences can be characterized as both small and subtle. To me they are important. They are so important that I will not buy a CD when the same title is available on SACD.
To you, according to many posts you have made, the differences are negligible and not important.
I think that is your answer and it is not going to change. There is very little point waiting to buy an SACD version of the Byrds 5D, because it is a given that you will find it negligibly different from the CD version.
So really, why bother? You gave it a very fair shot and there is far more music available on CD and a far wider range. I guarantee that if I found SACD to be only negligibly better than CD, I would have given it up long ago.
