you can buy used, I have bought many Direct to Disc recordings for as little as $5.00 from used record stores and on eBay. I have even bought 3 Direct to Disc records at thrift shops: Harry James: Comin' From A Good Place on Sheffield Lab (LP and Cover Like new) for 50 cents, Amanda McBroom & Lincoln Mayorga on Sheffield Lab (LP Mint - Cover excellent some ring wear) for 25 cents and The Dillards: Mountian Rock on Crystal Clear for 25 cents (LP and Cover VG+, but almost no surface noise, superb sound). I NEVER PAY RETAIL, the most I've spent on an LP was 29.75 for a $35.00 180 Gram Decca. I also will not pay retail for SACDs, you can always find a discount so why pay retail? I purchased many RCA Living Stereo reissues by Classic Records which retail now for $33.00 for as little as $12.95.
