The best way to blind test would be to have an SACD group and a CD group, all with excellent hearing, then have them listen to music for several hours on a system that has speakers with good tweeters (I prefer ribbons) driven by a decent player, preamp, and amp. Then do a listener fatigue test on each individual. SACD will win hands down, not because of what is heard on SACD, but because of what is NOT heard on SACD, but heard on CD (irritating digital related artifacts).I should also mention that for the type of music I listen to, the added dynamic range is very apparent on SACD.
One other point, you can hear the individual characteristics of musical instruments more clearly on SACD, again because of there is less altering of their sound because of the significant reduction of digital related artifacts.
Of course it's very possible that the multi-channel aspect may be the factor that really makes the difference.
