I probably would have tried a few different coupling/decoupling approaches myself, they really don't take that long.As far as the Meitner gear, in my6 experience, is concerned, it reacted significantly to various coupler/decouplers, but that could just be an environmental thing. (I have 8 to 10 inch thick concrete with #4 rebar doubled up in a 12" grid at 3 and 6 inches down).
I'm familiar with the new Esoteric transport. If you pull the top cover off, it looks like they milled a huge piece of steel that connects each side of the upper transport. That machined piece alone looks to weigh 3 or 4 pounds. Very Military looking, in it's ruggedness. Too bad it doesn't have a tighter bottom end and better low frequency extention, (at least with the combo I heard).
" the build quality, weight, and solidness of the Esoteric gear is exceptional......and would minimize (but not eliminate) sonic differences here."
I disagree. Coupling/decoupling is more than a minimal "difference" in my experience. If it didn't we would not just place our gear on the padded carpet or a built in cabinent and call it good.
I do appreciate your time, Mike. Thanks.
