pretty strong language.....i guess anyone with a computer can type whatever comes to mind.i have compared many digital SOTA players with both balanced and single ended interconnects (including the Meitner)......and it is a pretty minor difference......certainly not on the level of what you are suggesting. if that were, in fact, the case i'm sure that the Esoteric distributor would have made that clear to my friend.....which he did not.
as far as comparing the Nordost Valhalla XLR to Transparent MM Reference RCA cable; the Reference MM is very similar to the Transparent Opus......which i use as speaker cable and which i have had in my system and PREFER to my Valhalla interconnects (both XLR and RCA).
most product distributors selling $65k gear would love to have it in my room and have me tell everyone about it......as i have done many times to their benefit......but if the gear can't cut it......i say that too (and provide clear context).
as far as being an Amateur......and wondering about my motives.......credibility is earned over time......and i think i have the tools and experience to discern sonic differences.
