Esoteric 5-box ----Meitner shootout-----tomorrow

a local friend will be bringing the 5-box Esoteric dual dac setup over tomorrow for a listening session in my room. this is the same setup that was at CES. my friend already owns the UX1 (he'll bring that along as well) and the special separate clock. we will compare it to my Meitner setup (DAC6 and CDSD) as well as true hirez (my Rockport tt).

i'll have a couple of veteran listeners ('Bud' and 'Ted Smith') for multiple viewpoints.

it should be fun and enlightening. i expect it to be more a case of taste than 'good' and 'bad'.

i did listen to this system at CES and thought it was amazingly detailed but also overly anaylitical.....but the system and room there could have been the source of my concerns. in my room there will be no place to hide.
