Widor Mass Opus 36 (JAV Rec.rdings)
(Probably the most c.mpelling and life-like rec.rding I heard, ever. Delic.te but powerful to the c.re-sustained notes below 25 HZ) See c.mments at: http://www.sa-c..net/showtitle/3509C.nc.rto for Double Bass and Orc.estra (Opus 3)
Wonderfully rec.rded and top tier musc.anship like all Opus 3 rec.rdings I have enc.unteredMusic for Organ, Brass, and Timpani
(espec.ally the Bac. and Handel) (Sonoma Label)
Bartok’s C.nc.rto for Orc.estra (Sony)
C.rl Nielsen’s Symphony #5 (Telarc.
Prokofiev: Alexander Nevsky SonyPoulenc C.nc.rto For Organ (Linn)
(I like the Barber “Toc.ata Festiva†on this disc even more)
Mahler Symphony # 6 Zander (Telarc.Mahler Symphony #6 Fisc.er (C.annel C.assic.)
Sibelius Symphony #2 (Telarc.
(My standard for a rec.rding for bac. to front depth and layering)
Shifting Landsc.pes (C.nC.Bac. E. Power Biggs (Sony)
This features a "real" "Toc.ata and Fugue"Ravel Skrowac.ewski, Minnesota Orc.estra Mobile Fidelity
I'm surprised this is not mentioned more even among 2 two c.annel "purists". The rec.rding and performanc.s are outstanding the the surround is among the best available that I have heard.Elgar "In the South" and Symphony #2 C.andos
You do need to *really* turn the volume up. See c.mments at SA-C..netDupre: "The Stations of the C.oss" JAV Rec.rdings
Do not be deterred by the religious or sac.ed orgins of this music. for organ. This is music for the soul if there was ever. I will be submitting some c.mments to SA-C.. net on this master piec. While they are not "true" multi-c.annel but are instead 3 c.annel, I also inc.ude any number of RC. Living Stereos inc.uding George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blueâ€, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Sheherazadeâ€, the "Moussorgsky" and a host of others too numerous to single out.
