What I rely on is the complete absence of any claim that "Listeners preferred the sound of our cables over others by 3-1" or other such claim. Not one cable manufacturer claims a blind test in which their cables WERE DISTINGUISHABLE, better yet, better-sounding, than another. It would be in any cable manufacturers interest to print such a statistic if it existed. So the absence of such a study, and concomitant claim, speaks volumes.
Also, next time someone tells you about the "transparency" and "crystaline high end" of their brand of cable; listen carefully. That sound in the background is the ringing of cash registers.
