because vinyl has less audible frequency spectrum information as you heard towards the center. If the master has full spectrum information, DSD has the capability of reproducing that information. The psychological phenomena is quite possibly imprinting, where the first recorded music you heard was on vinyl and the way that sounded is forever imprinted on your brain as a reference not to mention a trigger for deja vu or nostalgic (warm) feelings. This may explain the wide spread acceptance of MP3 files and other compression technology embraced by gen Xers and others who have never heard vinyl and were imprinted with cd and radio(playing cd's). First generation cd's for the most part sound worse than good vinyl. Check out Larry Carlton's Alone/But Never Alone on first generation CD and on MCA heavy vinyl.
