My "baby" failed again. It is interesting but if I resolder the Servo processor it works fine for a while. I've seen this before though. I have 2 more SACD1000 machines working fine. So, I took the SAA7399 from one of the working machines and installed it on mine (special rework tools required, don't try this at home..;-)..), then I installed the Processor from mine to the other machine.Guess what, the problem went to the other SACD1000!
What I did when installing the good SAA7399 to my SACD1000 is I have applied sufficient amount of heat sink paste underneath it to use the PCB and Ground plane as a heat sink and also have installed a small heat sink on the top of it. So far it works fine and it's been a long time.
If it's still running overnight then WE GOT IT! So lets hope.
Hey and leave some SAA7399 in stock for me...:-)
Regards,
Alex
