If it will play DVD-R's it will play SACD-R's. The only difference between SACD and DVD is an added layer of encryption, usually called "pit-width modulation. This affects the strength of the reflected laser beam, which is then decoded by an extra circuit. However, all SACD player will play un-encoded discs. Therefore the only question is if the transport mechanism will read a DVD-R, which has a different reflectance than a stamped (and plated) disc. It's been at least 10 years since I've seen a DVD drive that would not play DVD-R's (although some are pickier about the condition of the recordable disc, as far as scratches and dirt and so forth). I'd be very surprised if the SA-10 didn't play both DVD-R's and DVD-R's burned with DSD data (which is what an SACD-R is).
Hope this helps.
