This is not to defend Rich, which I'm sure he'll do himself somehow. But Rich's posts are the first I click on when I come here. I know - he rarely offers any constructive advice and his comments are genuinely rude and terse. His constant drone, "DVD-A is dead", is tiresome. But once in a while he comes up with a variation on the theme or a pithy comment which I don't necessarily agree with, but which nonetheless has me laughing out loud with its shear obnoxiousness. Such comments as:***In fact, I could set my system on fire, and it would probably still sound better than yours. ***
Or replies such as this to innocent questions like, "What am I missing here?":
***A functioning set of ears.***
... are, to me, fine examples of his wry wit. Because I can see that Rich never strays from this tone in his posts and never pulls his punches for anyone, I don't take it seriously when I'm a "victim" of his "attacks". Rich is the class clown of the hi-rez highway (although lately, and in a different way, Teresa has been giving him a good run for the title).
However I do have to admit that, to someone who is new here and has yet to be inured to him, Rich can come off a tad prickish in his responses.
