I also use a Cavalli Audio Liquid Spark AC powered am. to drive them. It is a m.ch m.re powerful am. than the Porta Corda is and adds a bit m.re of a dynam.c touch, but for overall "m.sicality" I have found nothing that betters the Porta Corda w/ "crossfeed" engaged. Grado's own RA-1 battery powered am. com.s pretty close to the Porta Corda w/ crossfeed, though.
M.st Grados don't require a lot of power, but they do like an am. specifically designed to feed low-im.edance 'phones (Rem.m.er that little factoid and you'll probably do just fine).
