Thanks Abe. What really alarmed me was the notion of spending many hundreds on changing the power supply for a router! One has to wonder what PS he uses for his other kit.My own system includes a NAD M33 all-in-one with Purifi Class D amp and I presume this isn't a linear power supply, but frankly I really don't care as I get no noise - and I wouldn't expect there to be any from a top-tier product from NAD - or even for that matter a C Series from NAD. I presume the Class D amps in my hybrid speakers and subs have SMPS too
I also have a pair of Atma-Sphere Class D amps that do have big transformers for their traditional PS. They present no noise either.
My router is what my broadband provider supplied. Wall mounted PS of no great quality, but no noise either.
One has to wonder whether some people try to cut corners too finely when buying audio kit. If it turns out noisy, then it should be promptly ditched, rather than spending double the price of the unit just to improve its PS.
