RE: is it live ..... or is it Memorex ?

It's all relative..... I've never heard a system in which I thought a voice was indistinguishable from someone actually in the room...... (But I've never heard a legendary singer live and unamplified. So if a system did come close to achieving this, I still wouldn't be sure.)

But then again, those old Memorex TV commercials were a little shady...... These commercials put forth the bogus notion that a singer's vocal pitch would somehow change in frequency (and hence not shatter an identical glass because the playback missed the glass's "resonant" frequency) if a competitor's tape were to have been used in recording and playback......

The TV commercials also ran under the presumption that two identical glasses would also resonate at the exact same frequency..... Glasses tend to vary somewhat in this regard..... (They could have at least mentioned that the glasses were "tested" for the same resonant frequency.)
